Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View King Ste: Breakfast Included 10th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If not, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
