Tips to get the best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean View King Suite at Oceanfront Resort + Onsite Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
