Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Ocean View King Suite at Oceanfront Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
