Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the best rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Views on Lake Magnolia has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
