Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 1 bedroom - Sand Dunes 1129 - Sleeps 6! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
