Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo- Newly Renovated-Compass Cove North 1416 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
