Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront! Amenities galore! 1 bedroom condo at Caravelle Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
