How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront Escape to Remember @ Camelot by the Sea has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Call the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
