Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront Studio With Massive Indoor Waterpark! Water Slides and More! Dunes Village Resort 347 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
