Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanview beautiful 2BD, 2BA condo, Beach Colony has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
