Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the best rental:

  • To start, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. A427 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Oceanview Oasis has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
