Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Perfect cozy condo in the center of Myrtle Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
