Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Start by having your family choose trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sand Dunes Resort, 8th Floor, Ocean View Getaway! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
