Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sands Beach 505 2 bed\/2 bath oceanside has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
