Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Sandy Ocean View King Bed Accessible 5th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
