Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Scenic Views from the balcony at Ocean Forest Plaza Condos ????? Oceanfront ????? has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
