Rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Filter your search:
- To start, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Scenic Views from the balcony at Ocean Forest Plaza Condos ????? Oceanfront ????? has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
