Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking your Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Sea Glass Tower, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 1 Bedroom Standard- Limited View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
