Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Sea Watch, Direct Oceanfront Views,King,Remodeled! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is best for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
