Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • To start, have your group agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Carol Bay Unit 202 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.

Tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
