How to get the best rental home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sheraton Broadway Resort Villas, 2bd\/2ba condo, extra large has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a great stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
