Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Two 2BR\/2BA Villas has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
