How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Simply Relaxed 2\/2 - KING - Myrtle Beach Resort - Near MYR has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
