Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Spacious 2BR\/2BA Golf Villa that sleeps 8 at Famous Legends Golf Course has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
