Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Dunes Villas Coastal Escape Unit TH7 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If not, contact the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is right for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
