Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The Palace- 2314 - ocean view 2 bedroom\/2 bath has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
