Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the best rental:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Travel the World by the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Tips for a great stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
