Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family agree to trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes Beach Cottage Now Booking for 2025! Steps to the Ocean! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
