Vacation rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 2 Bedroom 2 Bath: Walking distance to Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
