Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. ?? Direct Oceanfront on 11th floor! Walk to Convention Center! Great Location has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
