How to find the best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Euphoric Oceanfront 15th Floor 3 Bedroom Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
