Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the best Myrtle Beach rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group select the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Extravagance and Views: Oceanfront Jr Suite 2nd FL has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
