Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Gleaming Oceanfront 3 BR Condo 14th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
