Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking the rightvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. High Floor,Amazing Views,Camelot By The Sea,Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
