Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose yourrental home:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Low Floor 1BR, Direct Ocean Front Heated Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
During your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
