How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Bluewater Resort's King Honeymoon Suite has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
