Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Blissful Oceanview Retreat - 1bd\/1ba Condo 111207 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
