Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Three Bedroom Condo 11th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
