Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting and booking the rightrental home:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes Beautiful House located on Magnolia Lake Canal, limo cart available has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
