How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Selecting and booking yourvacation home:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 1 Bedroom Oceanfront Condo w\/ Amazing View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
