Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 1 Bedroom Oceanview Penthouse at Sandy Beach! 1905 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
Advice for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
