Tips to get the best rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your group choose a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 10th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & gym - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
