Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Gorgeous Ocean View King Suite w\/ Balcony has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
