Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 10th-floor oceanfront snowbird-friendly condo with pool, hot tub, & AC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Advice for a great stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
