Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. First Floor Luxury 1,350 Sq Ft First Floor Condo w\/ No Steps has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
