How to find the best rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your family decide on date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 11th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Condo w\/ WiFi, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
