Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 12th-floor Ocean-Front, Snowbird-friendly condo with pool, hot tub, & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
