Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • To start, have your group commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Best Oceanfront Views & Beach Access Prime Location Downtown has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
