Vacation rental booking tips:
Finding the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 15th floor 3 bedroom\/2 bath condo with million dollar views! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips to have a great stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
