Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • First, have your group choose dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 15th-floor ocean-view studio with beach access, pool & hot tub - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
