Tips to get the best rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 1BR Oceanfront Cozy Upstairs Level has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
