Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 16th-floor ocean-view condo with pool, hot tub & beach access has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
