Vacation rental tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 16th-floor ocean-view condo with pool, hot tub & beach access has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
